I am a solar installer and we did a job on a 7/12 R-panel roof. These shoes were great for walking on the roof. I could walk straight up to the ridge from the eves without slipping. Even though the shoes are heavy they don't feel heavy walking in them. And I was surprised that my natural walking was enough to lift my foot off of the metal roof without any extra effort. However, I could plant my foot on the metal and I held firm. The shoes worked really well, but I slipped on the pollen covered portion of the roof. And the soft rubber bottom would chunk off from the fastners on the roof.
They grip like nothing else.You can trust them on any magnetic surface.
