Working on steel roofs often means balancing on steep, smooth, and sometimes wet surfaces where conventional footwear quickly reaches its limits. Even high-quality rubber soles rely primarily on friction—and friction can drop dramatically when water, dust, or metal debris are present.

NAVAIL footwear approaches traction differently.

Instead of relying on friction alone, NAVAIL uses a proprietary magnetic traction system designed for ferromagnetic steel surfaces. Powerful rare-earth magnets embedded inside the sole create an additional downward force that helps keep the footwear in contact with the roof.

The result is improved grip, greater stability, and better control of body movement on steel surfaces.

But traction alone is not enough. Footwear must also allow natural walking without fighting against the magnetic force. That is why NAVAIL technology combines two core innovations: Magnetic Grip and Walk & Lock™.

How it works

The magnets are specifically arranged to concentrate the magnetic field close to the sole.

As soon as you lift your feet from the steel surface, the magnetic pulling force reduces steeply. 

This way, you barely feel the magnetic pulling force when walking. However, as soon as your boot touches the steel, it is strongly attracted to it.
